A letter written by my 2nd great Uncle Thurston Saunders (1886-1958) to his mother Mary in 1915 during World War 1. Thurston emigrated to Yonkers, New York State but returned to serve his country during the war. He later returned to Yonkers.

During his time in the USA, he wrote many letters to his sisters Annie and Cecily back in St Helens. They provide an amazing insight into his life and his worries for his family over the Atlantic. An example is shown below.
