Margaret Bannister (also known as Margery) was my great great great grandmother, born in 1816.
On 30 June 1835, she married James Heywood in two ceremonies - one at St John's RC Church, Wigan and another at All Saints C of E Church, Wigan.
By the 1841 census, they were living in an "institution" at Great George Street, Wigan aged 25 with children Jane, James and 2 month old John. Jane was born in Aughton in 1838, James in Wigan in 1840, and John in Wigan in 1841.
They had another son Isaac in Aughton in 1844, followed the year later by my great great grandfather William Heywood, in Ormskirk. William's son, Ernest was my great grandfather.
In the 1851 census, Margaret was living on Scarth Hill Lane, Aughton, aged 35, the wife of shoemaker James (36), with children Jane (13), James (11), John (9), Isaac (7), and William (6).
Margaret died at some point between July and September 1852 in Ormskirk. Her husband James remarried on 8 March 1859 at St Johns RC Church, marrying Mary Jones (born 1816), a shopkeeper from Kendal. He died in 1889.
